“I felt very honored to be invited to IU’s concert, but sadly, I couldn’t cancel that schedule as the penalty breach [of contract] was way too high. If I was in my current state back then, I would’ve paid the penalty and just left it as my soju [brand] is kind of booming,” Jay Park explained.

IU then said, “When we begin concerts, you will be the first artist [I invite].” To this, Jay Park says he would not arrange any overseas schedule from now on to be able to attend.

IU Thought ‘GANADARA’ Would Not Be Released As It Was Completed Two Years Ago

IU and Jay Park then talked about their new song “GANADARA,” revealing that it had been two years since they first met at the recording studio to create the song.

“Why did [releasing GANADARA] take so long? I really wanted to know why. We recorded it two years ago. I even thought, ‘I must have been cut because my recording wasn’t good enough,'” IU asked.

To this, Jay Park said, “We completed the song in 2020, right. We even did the mixing. I wanted to release the song at the right time when I could prepare for it properly and have the time and condition for it. How would [the song] be as a new start in my new company? Although it’s been two years, the song doesn’t feel old at all. I think it was smart to have saved it.”
