Many fans would know that Lay sustained various injuries throughout his career in the K-pop industry, including a chronic waist injury when he was still a trainee and a motorcycle accident in 2016. Because of this, working out became quite challenging for the singer.

After undergoing treatment and rehabilitation to recover from his injuries and accident, EXO member Lay started working out again. He regularly does exercises that focus on the upper body so he can regain his strength.

Back in 2015, the “Don’t Fight the Feeling” singer appeared on the Chinese show “See You on Monday.” There was a part during the episode where the K-pop idol visited the gym to work out.

As part of EXO Lay’s workout routine, he goes through a series of upper body and HIIT workouts. One of the exercises he did during the show is the dumbbell exercise. He also did leg raises, mountain climbers, and more.

Aside from spending time in the gym, boxing and dancing are also included in EXO Lay’s workout routine. While he sometimes do boxing with his trainer, he does a lot of dance practice to learn the choreography of his group’s new song or upcoming live performances.

Even though EXO often takes a break from group activities, partly because of the members’ military enlistment, Lay still practices for his solo promotions in China. Through dancing, the idol can burn lots of calories. A 30-minute continuous dancing can already burn 200-400 calories depending on your weight. Those who weigh more will lose more calories.

In addition to having a workout routine, EXO member Lay is also known to follow a strict diet that his trainer manages for him. However, there is no further information revealed regarding this.

EXO Lay’s Recent Activities

At present, EXO Lay continues to carry out solo activities in China. His recent solo release is his new EP, “East,” which came out in October 2021. “East” comprises a total of four tracks that the idol produced with the concept of embarking on a journey to have self-reflection.
