TXT Becomes the Third K-pop Artist in History to Spend 100 Weeks on Japan’s Oricon Album Chart

TXT has become the latest Korean act in history to stay 100 weeks on the Oricon Album Chart with “The Dream Chapter: MAGIC.”

Released on Oct. 21, 2019, “The Dream Chapter: MAGIC” is TXT’s first full album. It is composed of eight songs, one of which is the title track “9 and Three Quarters (Run Away).”

TXT Spends 100 Weeks on Oricon Album Chart with “The Dream Chapter: MAGIC,” Third K-pop Act to Do So

On Oct. 20, Oricon released the latest rankings of its charts, including the album charts, for the week of Oct. 11 to 17 (dated Oct. 25).

One of the K-pop albums that made it to this week’s Oricon Album Chart is TXT’s “The Dream Chapter: MAGIC.” TXT’s first full album first entered the chart, dated Nov. 4, 2019.

With its latest entry, “The Dream Chapter: MAGIC” has now spent a total of 100 weeks on Oricon.

TXT is now the third Korean artist in history to last this long on the Oricon Album Chart with at least one Korean album. The first two acts to achieve this feat are BTS and TWICE.

This year, the Big Hit boy group is currently the fourth best-selling K-pop artist on Oricon. They have sold more than 350,000 copies of their albums, so far.

Meanwhile, TXT is set to release their first Japanese EP, titled “Chaotic Wonderland,” on Nov. 10. It will contain four songs including two original Japanese tracks and the Japanese version of “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)” and “MOA Diary.”

TXT Enters Billboard Charts, Extends Own Record for the Longest-Running K-pop Artist on Two Billboard Charts

In other news, TXT has once again secured a spot on several Billboard charts for the week ending on Oct. 23 with their second full album “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE.”

In particular, “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” jumped up 19 places to No. 27 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales. It also climbed up 41 spots on Top Album Sales to get to No. 34 this week.

Moreover, the full album rose to No. 8 on this week’s Billboard World Albums Chart and re-entered at No. 2 on the Tastemakers Albums Chart.

Notably, the album never left the Top 10 of World Albums Chart since it first entered the chart at No. 4 in the week ending on June 12.

TXT’s “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” has now spent 19 weeks on Top Album Sales and 20 weeks on Top Current Album Sales and World Albums charts.

With that, “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” has once again extended its record as the longest-charting 2021 album on Top Current Album Sales and World Albums charts.

Furthermore, TXT’s “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” has now charted for approximately five months on any Billboard charts, starting from June. Also, it is still charting on Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, and World Albums.

“The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” is currently the Big Hit boy group’s best-performing album on Billboard charts.
