SEVENTEEN on Why the Group Renewed Their Contracts with Pledis Entertainment Ahead of Initial Renewal Date
To commemorate the release of SEVENTEEN’s ninth mini-album, “Attacca,” the 13-member group held a press conference on October 22 KST, where they talked about their new album, goals and more.
In particular during the press conference, SEVENTEEN was asked about their decision of renewing their exclusive contracts with Pledis Entertainment.
Back in July, fans became delighted to know that all 13 members had renewed their contracts with the label, despite the initial talks of contract renewals scheduled to be sometime in 2022 as SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015, and their contracts being valid for about seven years.

According to SEVENTEEN’s leader S.Coups on this decision, they had decided to renew their contracts with Pledis Entertainment as the label have shown their loyalty to the group throughout the years.
“Pledis Entertainment took care of us well for a long time, and we felt that [continuing] with them would continue to help us in shaping the future that we are picturing. Ever since the beginning, we felt that all 13 of us would continue to be together at this company,” S.Coups said.

Hoshi also added that their decision to renew their exclusive contracts ahead of its initial renewal date turned into a process for the group to mature into adulthood, thus, it represents a turning point for SEVENTEEN.
“We will continue to strengthen our hearts and work hard to show everyone a new side to us,” Hoshi concluded.
SEVENTEEN on Promoting for the First Time as 11 Members
SEVENTEEN also shared their thoughts on promoting as 11 members for the first time, following Chinese members The8 and Jun returning to China to be with their family and focus on their delayed Chinese activities until December.
On promoting as 11 members for the remainder of 2021, Seungkwan said that it is natural for them to feel a gap from missing two members as they have always been 13 since their debut.
